The LINEup project participated in the MAPIE Open Seminar, a public event organised by the MapIE consortium – one of LINEup’s sister projects under the same Horizon Europe funding call. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore how European research can inform effective policy responses to persistent inequalities in education and the labour market.
During the session dedicated to “Sister Projects’ Presentations”, Emmanuele Pavolini (University of Milan) presented the LINEup project on behalf of the consortium, addressing the central question: How does your project respond to the objectives of the Horizon Europe call under which it is funded?
Pavolini explained that LINEup aims to deepen the understanding of how educational inequalities evolve over time across diverse European contexts. By integrating quantitative and qualitative research approaches, the project aligns with the Horizon Europe ambition to foster policy-relevant, interdisciplinary, and comparative research. In doing so, LINEup contributes to the development of more equitable education systems and to the broader goal of strengthening social cohesion across Europe.
With more details, the presentation emphasized LINEup’s contribution to:
- Advancing comparative research on educational inequalities through longitudinal lens;
- Promoting interdisciplinary dialogue by combining systematic review, data mapping, and qualitative fieldwork;
- Delivering actionable knowledge to inform education policy and practices across Europe.
Events such as the MAPIE Open Seminar are instrumental in fostering dialogue and collaboration across EU-funded projects tackling shared challenges. LINEup is committed to continuing this exchange and contributing to a broader ecosystem of research and practice aimed at equity and inclusion.
